Yoga by the Wall 2

Back by popular demand I will be sharing a second Yoga by the Wall workshop.  It is not necessary to have attended the first.

I have further developed a playful and experimental asana practice using the wall as a prop.  With its solid, unmistakable support and feedback, the wall paves the way to create new neural pathways and communication between body and mind.  Your neuroanatomy of learning is just as significant as your muscular skeletal anatomy as it allows us to engage in motor control producing movement, but also our sensory systems to perceive movement.  These motor and sensory messages travel via the neural pathways to the periphery of our bodies.

We will explore these principles further while beginning with gentle familiar postures, noticing the changes in our bodies with the extra support.  Developing into standing postures with the wall as our reliable prop , you will learn to stabilise balance postures and deepen the intensity of aligned release in to flexibility.  Inversions and arm balances will be explored from basics to more advanced with a fun and supportive approach.

After our practice you are invited to stay for food which I will provide.
